Buffalo City Youth Development Network previously known as SYDC

About us

The new Youth Development Network for Buffalo City has been formed from joining the existing Buffalo City Youth Council with the new Connections Service for Buffalo City. Buffalo City Youth Development Network is an umbrella organisation which works with and for young people who live in the City of Buffalo. The Buffalo City Youth Development Network is initiated by young people to address the needs of young people in the Buffalo City, to connect with youth and foster a positive image in the region. Buffalo City Youth Development Network is made up of young people from across the city of Buffalo. We focus on group discussions as a means to recognize and address issues affecting our community today: HIV/AIDS, unemployment, crime, drugs Trafficking, alcohol abuse, teenage pregnancy, identity crisis and general disinterest in civic matters.

We are all from different areas, groups, backgrounds and abilities, but we all have one thing in common – what we believe in!
We believe that all young people have the right to have a say in what happens in their city.
We believe that young people have views and ideas about how to make things better and are willing to get involved if they are given the chance. We believe that every young person has the right to have their say and get involved, and should not be discriminated against no matter what, as long as they don’t take other peoples rights away themselves!
