What do you want to talk about on the Kwanda forums?

I am overwhelmed by the success of the programme in creating opportunities for the communities to take charge of their own situation and become more self sustainable and self reliant. The noticeable change in attitudes and the positive response to communities even when losing the competition is fantastic.

Tell us about the community where you live

We started working in the Pefferville Community via the ABC Connects NGO whereby we involve the school communities to become the centre of community development, via staff development, teambuilding, leadership and management improvement and, teacher development programmes, life skills programmes for the learners. We assist with projects identified by teachers and community members. These lead to structural repairs and cleanup progrjects involving communities, businesses, churches and municipalities. We belief that this lead to the community being identified for the Kwanda Project.

What do you want to learn from the members of the Kwanda social network?

Involvement of ALL community structures to upliftment projects involving the school communities. Schhols are critical areas to start off with as it is the closest place where you can reach out to the communities.
I would like more strengths in getting communities motivated to start off with identifying common areas having shared vision in tackling projects.

How ABC Connects made a difference in creating opportunities for a School Community to become more positive resulting in greater pride amongst teachers learners and community members alike.
