- Tell us about the community where you live
- from where i stay people are killing each other, fighting one another, raping children, in hometown of Steve Biko {Ginsberg} where the Community has turned a blind eye to Criminal activities such as Rape, Housebreaking, Drug Abuse and cruel Community members. It is Sad to see the Hometown of the Father of Black Consciousness and the Son of the entire African Continent {Stephen Bantu “Xhamela” Biko} to be one of the most extremely rated Community that has become A “Drug Haven” where young kids are used as Traffickers. Most of the parents know that their children are victims of these druglords who are slowly taking over from good community members. The Biko Bridge was declared as an international and National Heritage site, it has been converted into a criminal activity tollgate, where Girls are being raped, men are being raped, people are being killed in the same Bridge that was meant to protect, preserve and educate people about the life, ideas and love of Steve Bantu Biko. I am asking whether this is the kind of South Africa, Ginsberg in particular, Biko would have fought for. I do believe that “Xhamela” Bantu Biko is turning on his grave, with his eyes looking upon to us. despite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment that are facing Young people of South Africa, Particularly Ginsberg and its Surroundings I still do believe that one day even Ginsberg, a wilderness Township, sweltering with the heat of child trafficking, Corruption, criminality, fraud, rape, the abuse of women and children, Drug abuse, drunkenness, extortion, and family breakdown, much of it touched by violence, will be transformed into an oasis of harmony and righteousness.
SYDC
The existence of SYDC is to build a Youth development Centre for both in-school and out-of-school youth which focuses on community building and informal education. Many of these young people are unemployed and live in or lead child-headed households in a remote community of Buffalo City, southern Africa, where almost no resources exist for this age group.

Ginsberg Youth Council
Ginsberg youth council was established on 27 November 2000. It was formed after a series of workshops were conducted by the Interfaith Community Development Association-(IDCA). A research study was conducted on family / household, business initiatives in Ginsberg. The study used the model of a participatory action research. Could you go to the BLOG section of this network, and tell us more about the Ginsberg Youth Council & SYDC. What do the two organisations do? (maybe you could llift the info from the organisations' corporate profiles to explain)?
What are the challenges that your community face? You've mentioned some of them in your profile information.
What is your community doing to try to overcome these challenges? Who is helping? Are you getting the people to volunteer to make a difference? If not, what is stopping them?
